The fastest way to reach L’Aquila from Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)

The easiest way to reach L’Aquila by plane is by traveling to the Rome Fiumicino (FCO) airport, and then taking a direct bus, from the airport to L’Aquila

  2. Direct connection with Flixbus: Four daily Flix buses connect Rome Fiumicino to L’Aquila. The service is provided by Flix Bus. The duration is about 2h:15 min. As in the case of the Gaspari bus, the Flix bus also stops at “L’Aquila Amiternum” and you will need a taxi to reach the venue.     Apart from Gaspari, four daily bus services provided by Flixbus connect Rome Ciampino to L’Aquila.  The duration is about 2.0h. An alternative way to reach L’Aquila from Rome Fiumicino airport (FCO)

In case the options above would not work for you, you may still reach L’Aquila from the Rome Fiumicino (FCO) airport by taking a train, then a bus.

  • Connection with TUA: Take the train at the Airport Station until Roma Tiburtina (current duration 48′, timetable, and tickets on Trenitalia), Outside the station there is the TUA terminal bus, Online timetables, and tickets can be found at TUA. TUA stops at “L’Aquila Collemaggio”, from where the venue can be easily reached. The city center (i.e., Fontana Luminosa and Hotel Castello) is 1.5 Km away. TUA timetable is also available here

Another Alternative way to reach L’AQUILA FROM ABRUZZO AIRPORT (IN PESCARA)

This airport is located near Pescara and about 119 km (74 miles) from L’Aquila, a 1h 20 min drive by car/bus on a motorway across the Appennine mountains. The airport is connected to the center of Pescara by Bus n. 8 and n. 38 line code GTM, with which you can reach Piazza Della Repubblica, the Bus Terminal to domestic and international destinations. From the Bus Terminal, several runs to L’Aquila (Bus Terminal Collemaggio) are available with TUA
