Hamburg will be the venue for the 2019 International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA 2019). Hamburg is Germany's second largest city, home to 1.8 million people and the industrial and cultural center of Northern Germany and the Baltic area. Located on the Elbe and Alster rivers and close to both the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, Hamburg has the largest port in Germany and is called the city on the water (European Green Capital 2011). It is organized together with the University of Hamburg, which is ranked among the top Universities in Germany and which just won the funding for four national research excellence clusters. In 2019, the University of Hamburg celebrates its 100th anniversary.
ICSA is the top international conference in the area of Software Architectures. The conference will attract 200 leading computer scientists and engineers from around the world for the event’s intensive 5 day program. Previous conferences were held in Seattle, USA (2018) and Gothenburg, Sweden (2017). With its long history of WICSA as a working conference and with a strong orientation for bridging between Academia and Industry it represents an interesting venue for increasing visibility and establishing contacts. Especially the Software Architecture in Practice Track gives an excellent forum for this.
