All WICSA and CompArch 2015 sessions will take place at École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS).

ÉTS is located in the trendy and artistic Griffintown district in the southwestern downtown of Montréal. ÉTS is about 15 minutes walk from Notre Dame Basilica of Montréal, the Place des Arts, and the Old Port of Montréal.

Getting from the airport to downtown Montreal

Public transport (Bus 747)

You can take the 747 bus line to get from the Montréal-Trudeau airport to downtown Montréal (near Berri-UQAM métro station) and back again. The fare is $10 and includes 24 consecutive hours access to all buses and subway (called the “métro”) lines in Montréal.

The 747 bus line service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Travel time may take 45 to 60 minutes depending on traffic conditions. The Hilton Montréal Bonaventure stop is just a few blocks away from ÉTS and the hotel.

By Taxi

You can get a taxi on the airport’s arrivals level which is near the central exit located in front of the cloakroom. There is a dispatcher to assist you. No reservation is required.

There is a fixed fare of $40 from the airport to downtown Montréal. You must explicitly ask the taxi driver for the fixed fare. Otherwise the fare will be meter-based and will vary depending on traffic conditions.

Montréal transit system

The transit authority in Montréal is the Société de Transports de Montréal (STM). The STM transit system includes buses and a subway (“métro”). The Montréal métro is fully underground. The Bonaventure station (orange line) is a few blocks northeast of ÉTS.

To take the métro, you only need to know which line (indicated by color) and direction. The direction is indicated by the last station on each line, in each direction. The map below shows the four lines of the métro. Operating hours and other useful information can be found here: [Métro].

Note that if you leave the island of Montréal (yellow line, last three stations at the northern end of the orange line), you have to pay a different fare. If you intend to use the transit system a lot, consider buying one of the fare packages (one-day, three-days, full week). More information here: [Fares].
